The 2001 Toronto Marlboros saw game time on 9 different occasions during the month of December, including 5 tournament games, over the Christmas break.

The results on the scoreboard do not accurately portray just how well this hockey team has matured throughout the season! However, as they say about “results:” “They are what they are.”

With all lines “clicking,” the “D” - standing like tall oak trees in front of rock-solid goaltending, managed to win 6 of the 9 games that the ’01 Marlboros played.

There were several moments of outstanding individual efforts, from every player on the team, and the nice thing to observe was, those moments always seemed to end in a team-based scoring opportunity, or a back checking recovery play, that shut down the opposition attack.

This is a fun team to watch. They are exciting. They come to play every single game and they give it their all, every shift. There has been a steady progression of growth throughout the season, and those efforts will no doubt translate directly into a very effective post-season playoff run!
