What do you get when you put 15 boys, a hockey coach, a big group of parents and siblings together and drive an hour up north? You get a fun filled day at Drysdale Farm!!
Carrying on a tradition which began last year, the Toronto Marlboros 2001 team along with their coach and families decided," why not make this an annual tradition?" That is exactly what they did. After an early Sunday morning game the plan was to throw on some winter coats and boots and head up to one of the most fun, Christmas spirited getaways that was only an hour away from home.
The families all pitched in and made sure that food and drink were plentiful (even bringing along a little Christmas cheer for their hot coffees). The boys and their siblings got to hang out with Santa and run through mazes made of hay and just further solidify their bond with one another. Muddy boots and chilly temperatures did not affect the fun that was had at the farm, not by a long shot.
It was an early Christmas adventure for the Marlboros and a day that would not be forgotten. In the spirit of creating new traditions, this was one that the team would not forego this year or in future years to come.
Merry Christmas everyone!!! |
