With yet another remarkable season of hockey and the tryouts behind, the 2001 Toronto Marlboros players, parents and Coach Louie Gialedakis reconvened to discuss the progress, as well as the future of the team.

They all gathered at Athlete’s Zone in Mississauga, Ontario...Where the team had their individual player fitness assessments done by Jim Reeves and his staff. Jim Reeves also took some time to inform the parents of the importance of proper and regular fitness training. This year Coach Louie Gialedakis thought it would be a good idea to allow the parents to watch the players, although from a distance, go through their paces. This would give the parents a real feel to exactly how hard these young athletes work together, in order to chase their dreams. The results of the assessment would be compared to last year's results and shared with the individual players and their parents in order to comprehend just how far each player, and their teammates have progressed over the course of last season.

The Toronto Marlboros 2001 players worked together, pushing each other hard, to better themselves and each other, but to also learn where they each needed to improve… It was great to see them working as a team.

Coach Gialedakis, very proudly spoke of the team and their accomplishments over the past two seasons. He also expressed to the players and their families that the upcoming season would be a year that will show which players are willing to make the sacrifices, and dedicate themselves to the sport…And taking their game to another level. Coach Gialedakis also emphasized that in order for the Toronto Marlboros 2001 team to compete, and to be recognized as one of the better programs, they will need to focus on the importance of fitness, mental preparation, proper nutrition, and overall team unity.

The night was informative for players, parents, and the coaching staff. The Toronto Marlboros 2001 team is looking forward to the upcoming team training camp and the start of a new season/chapter.
