The 2001 Marlboros were rocking in October...... "Rocktober". Their undefeated streak in GTHL play continued with the team having a 6-0-0 record during Rocktober.  The Marlboros overall GTHL record from the start of season to Oct 31st stood at 10-0-1.

The Marlboros played some exciting games against the Mississauga Senators, Vaughan Kings and the Junior Canadiens.  In each case, Coach Gialedakis and the players found a way to win. It was clear that the team was determined to come out on top.  Congratulations to the players of the 2001 Toronto Marlboros for their commitment to team play, their eagerness to learn, and their dedication to hard work. The result of everyone’s effort is clearly starting to pay off.

The Marlboros competed in the Markham Islanders Fall Classics during the Thanksgiving weekend.  They played tough and ended up placing 2nd to the Markham Waxers.  Please see the story on this tournament for more details.

Rocktober also saw the team continue with their individual skills development, team strategy, strength, and cardio fitness.  The team has instituted a post practice dry land program, with longer weekend sessions that have the boys pushing themselves inside and outside the rink.  In a relatively short period of time significant improvements could be seen in their overall agility, fitness level and speed.  Coach Gialedakis’ aim is to develop athletes.... Athletes that have great hockey skills, a passion for the game and a drive to contribute to their team's success.

As Halloween approached, the team decided to do a candy exchange at the rink.  The boys dressed up and showed their Halloween spirit with appearances from Bob Marley (nice last name), a super nerd, a skeleton, the Black Eyed Peas, Raggedy Anne, Mario (or maybe it was Luigi), and the man with no face.  And of course, Coach Gialedakis was feeling like Elvis.

The boys have really bonded, are having fun, have team songs and developed new traditions (they won't tell you though... Because... What happens on the bus stays on the bus).
